Overland Expo PNW 2022

Overland Expo PNW 2022

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our base camp at the expo and signed in!  We enjoyed meeting lots of OB members from across the country, outside of members from the PNW, we visited with folks from North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, California among others.  Lots of Overland Bound logos all around the expo and campgrounds. Michelle and I got to know so many good people on this trip, just not enough time to find and meet everyone as we wandered around.

It was great to meet Kent Reynolds, Overland Bounds Executive Director, as he wandered around the expo, hope you were lucky enough to find him and get a challenge coin or sticker!

Meeting Kent

We had 5 rigs in our base camp, and we had an awesome time hanging around camp swapping stories and tossing around ideas for upcoming trips and events.  Scott and Neil, always a pleasure to hang out with you guys,  and glad to meet Doug (who brought our camp mascot Olaf who made sure there was always someone around to pay attention to him and give lots of pets)  Chris and Nina was good to get to know you both and your family  (Michelle was happy to have a baby around to grandma😊) and Payton was always there to be helpful around camp and make sure no one went without any treats.

Also, a big shout out to our honorary base camp members Rich, Melinda & Jason!  They really wanted to camp with us, but Rich had purchased the experience package and luckily enough realized that came with a dedicated space before he unpacked and set up next to us. Melinda & Jason are just special and were selected to have their cool build on display at the DIY section. (Great job on your presentation Jason, and I want my $5 for not heckling you.)

We usually prefer smaller venues and events, but wanted to give a big expo a try, and we had a great time, a bit sunburned (although we lost that challenge to Neil…lol) and very tired at the end of the event, we are already making plans for next year’s Expo, and even discussing making the trek down to Arizona next year!

As per OTH Overland standard operating procedures we managed to get distracted several times on the way home and rolled in at midnight last night.
